how long does it take to sign up
About 5-10 minutes to sing up and 24 hours to get your account set up. After filling out and submitting the Budget Planner and the Client Acknowledgement form, you will receive a phone call within 24 hours where we take about 5 minutes to confirm your ID, User acknowledgement, answer questions and set a payment date.
How does onebill get my bills?
During the account set up, we set up an email address for you to forward all bills to. We highly recommend you contact all your service providers that email you bills and invoices and re-direct all emails to this new email address. You and your OneBill consultant have access to this email. If you cancel your OneBill account full ownership of the email account is transferred to you.
what if i receive bills in the post?
For paper copies of invoices or letters, you will need to scan or take a photo and email it to your new OneBill email address.
does onebill ever get late payment fees?
No. OneBill pay all invoices in full 2-7 days before due date. If for some reason the some a technical issue that resulted in late bill payments OneBill would cover the late fees. 'No Late Fees, Ever' is one of our core principles.
What if i get a bill that is higher than budgeted?
Any bill that is 10% higher than your budgeted amount we be paid and OneBill will notify you. Any bill 20% higher than budgeted amount will not be paid. You will be notified and given the options of a) a once of top up payment to your OneBill account. b) an increase to your budgeted amount. or c) payment direct to the provider outside of OneBill.
If my account has a positive balance can i redraw from it?
Only after 1 year. Often your account will have a positive balance, especially if only a minimal amount of bills are received that month, however that money is for expenses that have been budgeted for and it is certain to be used in the near future. If after 1 year from start date you have money leftover in your account you are free to withdraw that. That money would be from allowing extra amounts in your budgets or from saving money on expenses, both of which are highly recommended.
what to i do if i cancel a service or membership?
Simply go onto your budget planner and delete your budgeted amount for that service. This will result is your OneBill amount to be lower and that new amount will take effect immediately. Also, remember OneBill only pay off invoices received into your email account so if a provider stops sending bills then we stop paying. We highly recommend forwarding all account cancellation confirmations to your email account so it can be filed on your app.
if i have overdue bills can i sign up to onebill?
Yes, however all bills need to be paid in full and up to date prior to starting your OneBill account.
my financial situation is very bad, is onebill for me?
Maybe not. If you have very high debt levels and multiple overdue accounts OneBill may not necessarily be the best option for you. There is always a path out of even the worst financial situation and we recommend speaking to a financial adviser to help you plan the best way forward.
can i get onebill to communicate with providers on my behalf?
No, however we are working on a platform in our app where you can contact providers directly for account information, changes, cancellations etc. As OneBill are not the primary account holder we are not permitted to speak to service providers and utility companies.
do i need to onebill all my bills?
No, most users begin with 6-8 payments and add more over time.
can i use onebill for savings?
Yes. We have 2 saving accounts, a short term saver and a long term saver. Short term savings can be accessed anytime however long term savers need a 30 day notification prior to being released. Click here for more information.
